2.07 Managing Designer Licenses

Licenses are managed in the License Manager. This is a bundled tool and you use it to install, add, remove, validate, and request licenses from Synactive. However, you will use the License Manager tool to install the new licenses once you receive them.

This section will explain to you how to manage the Liquid UI Designer licenses in the License Manager using the following actions:

• Importing a license
• Manually adding a license
• Removing a license
• Validating a license

Importing Liquid UI Designer Licenses

Once you receive your Liquid UI Designer license from Synactive, you must import it into the License Manager. To import a license directly, first, locate the license file that you received from Synactive. Follow the below steps to import a license using the Licensing Manager.

1. Launch License Manager by double-clicking on the license file you receive from Synactive, as shown below.
   
    
   
    
2. In the License Manager window, click the Import License File located at the bottom.
   
    
   
    
3. Select the Liquid UI Designer license file which you got from Synactive, and then click the Open button in the Windows file open utility.
   
    
   
    
4. The license will be imported into the License Manager, as shown in the following image. In the appeared Window, click Apply to apply the license to your Liquid UI Designer.
   
    
   
    

Adding Liquid UI Designer License Manually

To add a license in the Designer License Manager, please do the following.

1. Open the License Manager and click the Add button.
   
    
   
    
2. Then appears a window, as shown below.
   
    
   
    
3. Type in the serial number that you received from Synactive and click OK. You can also launch the import process by clicking the Import License File button on the bottom left corner.
   
    
   

   
   

    
   

   Note: To get the serial number from the license file received, you need to open the file with a notepad. You will have to enter the license key by typing one character at a time but, cutting and pasting are not permitted.
    
4. The license will be added to the License Manager and will be applied to the Liquid UI Designer.
   
    
   
    

Removing Liquid UI Designer Licenses

To remove a license from the License Manager, please do the following:

1. Open License Manager and highlight the license you wish to remove.
   
    
   
    
2. Click the Remove button.
   
    
   
    
3. Then, the license applied to the Liquid UI Designer will be removed along with the license serial number from the License Manager.
   
    
   
    

Validating Liquid UI Designer Licenses

The License Manager provides you with the license information of all the Liquid UI products installed in your system. By validating the license, you can obtain the following information:

• License validity in days
• License expiry date

To validate the license installed in your system, please do the following:

1. Launch the License Manager and select the license to validate, as shown below.
   
    
   
    
2. Click Validate to verify the expiry date of the Liquid UI Designer license installed on the system.
   
    
   
    
3. The License Manager will check the status of your licenses and return a window. In this window, you can verify the number of days remaining and the actual date when the license will expire.
   
    
   
    
4. Click the Close button to close the message dialog.
